Apiary quite the buzz in Cranberry Township
CRANBERRY TWP — A Cranberry Township Community Chest project has created quite the buzz in the township, and a fundraiser this weekend aims to continue that momentum.
The Cranberry Highlands Community Apiary opened earlier this year, with courses offered to teach residents about the hobby of beekeeping. With National Honey Bee Day slated for Saturday, CTCC is raising funds for the ever-growing project.
A one-day fundraising campaign will be held Saturday, with donations going toward bringing awareness to beekeepers, honey hives and the blooming pollinator garden that adorns part of the Cranberry Highlands Golf Course. The funds will be used to offer additional education as well.
The Giant Eagle store in the township will match all donations up to $2,000, officials said.
