Saxonburg Police and Massachusetts state police discovered human remains today at a Dartmouth home that they suspect belong to Donald Eugene Webb, Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger said Thursday night.

Webb is the man accused of killing the Saxonburg police chief in 1980.

The FBI previously questioned Lillian Webb about the whereabouts of her husband, Donald who is accused of killing former Chief Greg Adams at a traffic stop shooting on Butler Street.

Adams was 31 when the incident happened on Dec. 4, 1980. Webb, who was 52 at the time, was never caught.

The FBI's Boston office last month announced a reward of up to $100,000 for anyone who provides information leading to an arrest or recovery of the remains of Donald Eugene Webb.

Police believe Adams was beaten and shot to death by Webb while performing a routine traffic stop.

The white Mercury Cougar Webb was believed to be driving was found later that month in Rhode Island.

An arrest warrant was issued in 1980 and he was listed on the FBI's 10 most wanted list from 1981 to 2007.

Police recently had a break in the case when investigators found a hidden room on the other side of a closet in his wife Lillian's house in Dartmouth. They returned to the property Thursday.
