Scouts' cookie drive includes new option

Christmas decorations may be back in the attic, but soon there will be new boxes to open.

The Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania have kicked off the 2022 Girl Scout cookie season.

Consumers can support local Girl Scout entrepreneurs by purchasing their favorite cookies.

New this year will be the Adventurefuls, a brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt.

It will join perennial favorites Thin Mints, Samoas and Tagalongs.

“Our bakers like to stay on top of flavor trends,” said Lisa Shade, vice president of brand marketing and product program for the Girls Scouts Western Pennsylvania, which has 15,000 Girl Scout troop members.

Beginning Friday: Girl Scouts will take orders on their order cards and sending emails to their customers through their personalized Digital Cookie websites.Beginning Feb. 18: Visit girlscoutcookies.org and enter your ZIP code to purchase cookies online from a local Girl Scout troop.Feb. 25 to March 20: Visit girlscoutcookies.org and enter your ZIP code to locate a booth sale in your area.
