Police say woman wanted on warrant found with drugs
A city woman was caught with crack cocaine Thursday after Butler police nabbed her on an arrest warrant in connection with a 2018 drug deal, authorities said.
City patrol officers were on Chestnut Street shortly before midnight when they spotted Jennifer Ann Young, 37, wearing a sweat shirt and pajama pants. They knew the Butler County Drug Task Force had a warrant for her arrest.
That warrant was issued earlier in the day stemming from a controlled drug buy May 15 in the city, court records showed. She is accused of selling crack to a police informant on West Penn Street.
Butler police said they arrested Young on the warrant after detaining her outside a convenience store on West Jefferson Street.
She admitted that she had crack in her bra, according to court documents. Police took her to the Butler County Prison, where a female corrections officer retrieved the suspected drug.
District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Young on Friday on the task force charges, including felony counts of delivery and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bail in the case was set at $10,000.
She was not immediately arraigned on a misdemeanor drug possession charge that Butler police filed against her Friday.
