Man arrested in connection to Thursday shooting in Butler

Khamrin Paige

A Carnegie man has been charged in connection with a shooting that injured two people Thursday, Nov. 5, on West North Street in Butler.

Khamrin Paige, 19, of Carnegie, is facing several charges including felony aggravated assault with deadly weapon after being found in a suspected vehicle by the Monroeville Police Department, according to Butler police chief Bob O’Neill.

Witness statements, video and license plate readers led Butler police to develop suspects who were in the vehicle around 6:45 p.m. Thursday — the time of the shooting. After being located by Monroeville police, Paige was transported to the Butler police station and interviewed by its officers.

According to O’Neill, more arrests forthcoming but detectives charged Paige as of Saturday. He is being held in Butler County Prison to await arraignment.

The two victims in the Thursday incident, a female who suffered a grazing wound to the head, and a male who was shot through the leg, are in stable condition and are recovering well, according to O’Neill.
