Severe thunderstorm warning affects Mars area, watch remains for Butler County
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a severe thunderstorm warning that includes the southwestern portion of Butler County.
The warning, which is in effect through 6:45 p.m., affects Mars and the southern most parts of Cranberry and Adams Townships.
The warning highlights a potential of penny-size hail and wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect through 8 p.m. for all of Butler County and a number of other counties across Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
The severe thunderstorm watch warns of frequent lightning, isolated hail and scattered wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour.
