HOLLIDAYSBURG — A woman was convicted Wednesday of raping and sexually assaulting a nine-year-old boy.

The woman, Christine Yeager, 37, of Altoona, sobbed Wednesday as the jury pronounced her guilty of five counts of sexual abuse, including rape, sexual assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

Authorities discovered the abuse when an aunt noticed the boy was touching his sisters inappropriately.

Taken to a therapist, the boy revealed he had been a victim of sexual assault, Blair County Assistant District Attorney Russell Montgomery said.

Bursting into tears in the courtroom, the boy told the jury he had not revealed the incidents for more than a year because Yeager had threatened to kill him.

Yeager is to be sentenced on Oct. 5. She faces 7 to 20 years in prison.
