GARRETT — A Western Pennsylvania wind farm is teaming up with conservationists on a study to determine the effects of wind turbines on bats.

Bat Conservation International is working with Iberdrola Renewables, which owns Casselman Wind Power Project in Somerset County. The farm has been shutting down select turbines since July so researchers can see if that has any effect on the bat population.
