SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University President William Behre announced this week a restructuring of his leadership cabinet, according to a news release.

“The president’s cabinet serves as my leadership team and provides advice, develops and implements universitywide initiatives and oversees operation of the university,” Behre said in the statement.

Behre said a key part of the changes revolve around Amir Mohammadi, formerly the vice president for finance and administration.

Mohammadi’s new title is senior vice president for administration and economic development, also described as the chief innovation officer.

“This is a critical position that will help identify new sources of revenue and promote a culture of innovation that positions SRU squarely within broader entrepreneurial ecosystems,” Behre said. “He will work to expand the university’s partnerships regionally and beyond to promote economic growth and develop strategies to link programs to workforce needs.”

The new cabinet includes: Behre; Mohammadi; Philip Way, provost; Rita Abent, chief communication and public affairs officer; Carrie Birckbichler, chief data officer; Molly Mercer, chief financial officer; Tina Moser, chief of staff; Lynne Motyl, chief human resources officer; Amanda Yale, chief enrollment management officer, and Edward Bucha (ad hoc member), executive director of the SRU Foundation.
