Even though Thanksgiving is a few weeks away, the Butler YMCA is preparing people with its annual Turkey Trot, which takes place Saturday morning, Nov. 7.

The 1-mile and 5K event features a route that takes people through the backstreets of Butler, starting and ending at the Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St.

Event-day registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with cash or check payment accepted. T-shirts are only guaranteed to people who preregistered. The 1-mile starts at 9:45 a.m., and the 5K will follow.

If events are canceled for any reason, no refunds will be offered and no rain date is scheduled. No deferrals or transfers are offered.
