Mustello easily wins reelection against write-in candidate
Rep. Marci Mustello, R-11th, will serve another term in the Pennsylvania state House of Representatives following a midterm general election race in which she ran against a write-in candidate.
Mustello received 19,381 votes compared with 3,171 write-in votes, according to unofficial election results reported in Butler County Bureau of Elections summary report.
Kathy Smith was the write-in candidate running against Mustello. Smith was competing in the race with the backing of the Butler County Democratic Committee.
Mustello was first elected in a 2019 special election after former state Rep. Brian Ellis resigned.
“I just want to thank the constituents for their continued support,” Mustello said.
She said she looks forward to keeping the 11th state House district front and center in Harrisburg and bringing funding home to the district.
“It really is an honor and privilege to serve,” Mustello said.
