Steven White of Butler Township uses the digital weapons simulator Thursday at Butler County Community College as part of a Butler Township Citizens Police Academy class. About 12 citizens are in the academy, which teaches them about police work. The group, which meets each Thursday, started Jan. 23 and ends March 6. The simulated weapons training system uses real firearms that have been modified to communicate with computers and a large digital screen using lasers and Bluetooth wireless technology.
