Slain woman's mom says boy knew gun dangers
PITTSBURGH — The mother of a slain pregnant woman says the 11-year-old boy accused in the killing knew the dangers of guns and was a good enough shot to beat out more experienced hunters at a recent turkey shoot in Western Pennsylvania.
Debbie Houk says Jordan Brown came home glowing with pride recently after beating out several older men at the Valentine's Day turkey shoot.
Brown is accused of shooting 26-year-old Kenzie Marie Houk in the head Friday and killing her and her unborn baby boy. Brown and his dad lived with Houk and her two young daughters in the rural town of Wampum.
A funeral for Houk and the baby is being held tonight.
