Orchard Hill Church having open house for all
Come see the emergency trucks up close and personal and touch a truck at Orchard Hill Church.
Brady Randall, pastor of the Butler branch of Orchard Hill Church, said this free event is a way for neighbors to get to know the church, and for the church to get to know its neighbors. The activities will be fall-themed, and Randall said other community organizations are part of the festivities.
“It's going to take place outside and inside the church. We're going to have touch-a-truck, there's going to be some EMS vehicles there that people can hop in and out of,” he said, “ax throwing, music and then inside there will be fall treats, desserts, doughnuts, apple cider, balloon animals, also a chance to win an Amazon gift card.”
The free fun-filled fall day for family, friends, games and seasonal activities will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the church, 120 Walker Avenue in Butler. Doughnuts are offered in the gym for the open house.
Randall also said he and the church administrators are looking to introduce more community events to the Butler area, with hopes of having one each month. The church already hosts a monthly food distribution, so organizing some kind of community activity around those distributions could be plausible.
“The hope will be that every other month is that we can have a family-friendly event,” Randall said. “This serves as an opportunity to meet our neighbors.”
