GoFundMe started for Michael Harris
Friends and family of the 50-year-old Butler man who died Tuesday morning, Oct. 27 after a two-vehicle crash on Route 8 have started a GoFundMe to support the family during this time of loss.
The Butler County coroner pronounced Michael Harris dead at the scene, while a Fenelton woman, Joanne McCaw, 66, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, Butler Township police said.
Harris was driving a Hyundai Elantra north on Route 8 near the Greater Butler Mart plaza when the vehicle collided with a Ford Bronco traveling south, driven by McCaw, police said. The crash was reported at 7:39 a.m.
Police said Harris succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
According to the GoFundMe page, Harris was the co-founder and coach of the Riverside Venom softball organization.
The page said Harris was described as a “man with a heart of gold” who showed up for others and offered encouragement when others needed it.
