County Democrats elect officers
The Butler County Democratic Committee on Tuesday re-elected Georgiann Kerr as chairman at its organizational meeting.
Kerr defeated challenger Zack Byrnes, 43 votes to seven votes.
Kerr of Lancaster Township became chairman in 2011 after Larry Kreiss resigned. She was vice chairman at the time.
Byrnes of Evans City was unchallenged in his bid for vice chairman, and was elected to that position by acclamation.
Also unchallenged and re-elected by acclamation was Jack Beiler of Penn Township to be treasurer.
All three officers will serve 4-year terms.
Kerr appointed JoAnn Clark of Marion Township as secretary and Regis Spirk of Adams Township as sergeant at arms.
