Regional seminar will address grazing topic

The Armstrong Conservation District in partnership with the USDA-NRCS and the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc., is hosting a workshop entitled "Assuring Grazing Success." This two-day seminar is scheduled for Oct. 15 and 16.

The featured speaker is Gerald Fry from Rosebud, Arkansas. Mr. Fry is the founder of Bovine Consulting and Engineering and a regular writer for the Stockman Grass Farmer. He will be discussing and demonstrating the use of linear measuring and ultrasound as tools to evaluate livestock. Buck Chastain from Albion Laboratories will present information on ruminant nutrition and mineral supplements.

Producers interested in learning ways to improve the genetics in their cattle herds should attend. If grazing plays any part in your management system, you won't want to miss this opportunity to hear these two speakers.

The first day will be lecture and the second will be on an area farm. The workshop will be located in the Armstrong County/Kittanning area and will require a registration fee of $25. Attendance is limited, so register early.
