BUTLER TWP — Police are seeking an unknown man who stole an elderly woman’s walker that she had momentarily left at a department store Sunday night.

The suspect, who was caught on store surveillance video, is an elderly man, Butler Township police said.

The victim apparently was in the Walmart store and about 6:20 p.m. left the Rollator walker at the cart return area inside the door at the store in the Butler Commons shopping plaza.

When she returned for the property, the walker was gone, police said.

The suspect is seen on video making a not-so-fast getaway, according to a police report, using the walker to get to his pickup truck in the parking lot.

The man took the time to fold up the walker and stash it in the bed of this truck, a white Chevrolet Silverado, before driving away.

The suspect, believed to be in his 70s, is described as balding with gray hair and wearing eyeglasses.

Anyone with information about the thief is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
