Weather service issues flood watch
ERIE — Some flooded roads in northwestern Pennsylvania are expected to reopen even as the National Weather Service issues a flash flood watch for nearly all of Western Pennsylvania.
The state Department of Transportation this morning reports several highway closures in Crawford, Erie and Venango counties. The flooding began Monday and continues in some spots today.
Those areas will remain under a flash flood watch through Wednesday afternoon, with 1 to 2 inches of rain in the forecast.
Also covered by the flood watch are Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence and Mercer counties, but no flooding is reported there yet.
