JEFFERSON TWP — Teachers in the South Butler School District voted Tuesday on a proposed contract.

However, Butch Santicola, a spokesman for the teachers, said this morning he wouldn't comment about the outcome of the vote.

Whatever the vote was by the teachers, the school board last week voted the contract down. That sends the two sides back to the bargaining table and opens the possibility for a second strike in the district this school year.

The 185 teachers in the district have been without a contract since June 30.

In October, they hit the picket line for 18 days.
