Doe license deadline nears
The last day to buy a landowner anterless license from the Butler County treasurer’s office is July 11.
The doe license is available to both resident and nonresident landowners who own 50 or more contiguous acres within the county and agree to keep that property open to public hunting and trapping during the license period.
The cost is $6.70 for residents and $26.70 for nonresidents.
Only one landowner license, which can only be obtained at the treasurer’s office, will be issued per qualifying deed.
The treasurer’s office, which is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, is in the county government center at 124 W. Diamond St. in Butler.
The first day for the general public to apply for doe licenses through the mail is July 14.
