Cranberry student stars in 'Shrek' musical rendition

MIDLAND — “Shrek the Musical,” a stage adaptation of the DreamWorks animated film, will feature Jordyn Walker of Cranberry Township as the Wicked Witch.

She is a junior at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School.

The musical opens Friday at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center and will continue through April 9.

“Shrek the Musical” tells the story of the irreverent but lovable ogre who embarks on a life-changing adventure.

Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.

Opening night will feature pre-show lobby activities and dining offered by a food truck.

On both Saturdays, Lincoln Park is encouraging patrons to stay after the show or come early by offering “Shrektacular Saturdays” from 4 to 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall, featuring a variety of free family friendly activities.
