Student loan agency looks to fill top spot
HARRISBURG — The board of Pennsylvania's student-loan agency will meet to consider how to fill the vacancy left by president and chief executive officer Dick Willey.
Willey's last day at the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency was Wednesday — two months earlier than he originally planned.
His decision to leave early came last week, after state Auditor General Jack Wagner said the agency had spent millions of dollars on employee bonuses since July 2004. Wagner also said the agency spent $108,000 on an amusement-park outing for employees in April.
