5:41: A few minutes before an early kickoff, here’s what’s at stake
Butler will start us off tonight at 6 — a friendly start for those of us on deadlines — and needs to win if it wants to keep alive the chance to finish with a winning record for the second year in a row. Even with a loss, the Tornado (4-4) could still finish .500 with a victory next week.
Moniteau and Karns City aren’t playing for much tonight with playoff berths secured, but good showings tonight would provide a little positive energy heading into the postseason.
Union/A-C Valley and Knoch face must-wins the next two weeks to have a chance at making the District 9 and WPIAL playoffs, respectively. Knoch must rely on the committee for a wildcard spot. The Falcon Knights are 3-5 and need to finish 5-5 to make it in D9, unless the school boards opt in while under .500.
