Ahead of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 24, the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs has released a step-by-step guide to help residents safely dispose of unused or unwanted medications

The department also announced some Take Back Day events happening in Butler County on Saturday to collect any expired or unwanted medications.

The guide can be found at www.pa.gov/agencies/ddap/substance-use-prevention/prescription-drug-take-back-program, designed to make safe medication disposal simple and accessible.

Take Back Day events will happen from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, Sam’s Club in Butler, the Department of Veterans Affairs and at the Unionville Volunteer Fire Company.
