PITTSBURGH The Pittsburgh Penguins and their fans raised more than $100,000 to benefit a fund for the families of three slain city police officers.
The Penguins collected donations from fans at Thursday night's game against the New York Islanders. The fans contributed more than $67,000 and Penguins players, staff and sponsors donated more money.
The money will go to the Pittsburgh Police Fallen Heroes Fund for the families of officers Eric Kelly, Paul Sciullo II and Stephen Mayhle, who were shot responding to a domestic dispute April 4.
