Traffic Alert DME

A portion of Route 228 in Adams Township is temporarily shut down Monday morning, Oct. 19, following a two-vehicle crash that ruptured a fuel tank and caused diesel fuel to leak onto the road, according to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch recordings.

Crews were still on scene as of 7:45 a.m. cleaning up the spill in the area of Route 228 and Warrendale Road, dispatch said. The crash occurred at about 6:10 a.m. Arriving crews reported about 95 gallons of fuel leaked onto the road after the fuel tank “completely ruptured.”

No injuries were reported in the crash. Butler County HAZMAT Team 100, Adams Area Fire District, Callery Volunteer Fire Company and Quality EMS were dispatched.
