Home plan in works
CRANBERRY TWP — Developers looking to build about 240 homes have started the pre-application process with the township’s planning advisory committee.
Ron Henshaw, director of community development for the township, said the development would be called the Haven at Brandt.
Although the process is in its infancy, Henshaw said the development would be along Brandt Drive, wedged between Route 19 and Executive Drive.
Brandt Drive, which has businesses such as Monticello’s and the House of Chen, begins at Route 19 and ends in a grassy field. The road is only about one-quarter of a mile long, Henshaw said.
He said the project’s manager, Johnson Development, would finish the road and connect it to Executive Drive.
“That road has been in the works for a long time, connecting to Executive Drive,” Henshaw said. “That is big news all by itself, that it finally might go in after all these years.”
The company hasn’t yet bought the land because the process has barely started.
Officials with the company introduced their project Monday night to the planning commission and listened to questions from commission members.
Henshaw said the developers want to quickly move with the project and could be ready for a full submittal of the plan in November.
“But nothing is set in stone yet,” he added.
