Butler, Clarion Health Systems sign merger agreement
Butler and Clarion's health systems have signed a definitive agreement to merge.
On Thursday, the health systems announced that an agreement was reached in which Clarion Healthcare System and its affiliates — including Clarion Hospital — would integrate into Butler Health System.
The health systems signed a letter of intent to merge in February and spent recent months negotiating the agreement.
“The proposed transaction will build upon the strengths of CHS and BHS,” a statement from Butler Health System read. “By working with BHS, CHS will be in a stronger position to make strategic investments in new programs, services and technology, all of which are important to keeping quality care close to home.”
A due diligence review process between the health systems included the study of each organization's assets and liabilities, operations and financial performance.
