Historic climb at Yosemite
Tommy Caldwell, top, raises his arms after reaching the summit of El Capitan Wednesday at Yosemite National Park in California. Caldwell, 36, and Kevin Jorgeson, 30, became the first to free-climb the rock formation's Dawn Wall, a feat many had considered impossible. At right, Gaelena Jorgenson of Santa Rosa, in red, raises her arms for her son. Caldwell's mother, Terry Caldwell, is to her right and his nephew, Grant Van Nieuwenhuysen, 12, is to her left.
