The Slippery Rock Area Parks and Recreation department has announced the cancellation of its fall foliage color run, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17.

In a social media post, the department said it made the decision to cancel based on a low number of registrants and volunteers, coupled with the weather forecast for the weekend.

Preregistered participants who have already paid will be contacted by event organizers.
