City of Butler opens leaf disposal at Memorial Park Oct. 17
Starting Saturday, Oct. 17, City of Butler residents can begin disposing of leaves in a designated area in Memorial Park.
According to a news release from the city, signs at the park will direct residents to the designated area. It will be open for disposal from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends and holidays.
Leaves must be added to an existing compost area. No materials used to carry the leaves — such as bags — are to be left at the drop area. No brush or garbage is allowed.
The area is scheduled to be open through Dec. 12.
A curbside collection service is provided by the city’s streets department. Residents can call the department at 724-285-8440 when all the leaves have fallen in their neighborhood or for more information.
