Gillon

Arthur “Art” Gillon Jr., 73, of Butler, passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2026.

He was born in Charleroi, Pa., on Jan. 21, 1953, son of the late Arthur Sr. and Flora (Matrozzo) Gillon.

Art was a graduate of Charleroi High School. He worked for Chick Workholding, HYCOA and Ritter Engineering.

Art was known for being a loving and selfless husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Art was a member of Global Methodist Church.

Art was the beloved husband of Joan (Daniels) Gillon, whom he married Sept. 22, 1990; father of Michele Gillon, Nicole Gifford and Ryan (Ally) Gillon; brother of David (Debbie) Gillon, Vicky (Dave) Talpas and Sherri (James) Gaydos; and grandfather of Ross, Colbey, Jonathan and Colin Gifford, and Jalynne, Ethan, Noah and Greyson Gillon.

Along with his parents, Art was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Gillon III; and his son-in-law, Neal Gifford.

GILLON — Family and friends of Arthur “Art” Gillon Jr., who died Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Global Methodist Church food bank in honor of Art.
