Phone problem reported
JEFFERSON TWP — Parents and community members who have tried to call the South Butler County School District in recent weeks may not have had their calls go through.
The district has been experiencing issues with the phones for several weeks, and while the problem hasn’t been completely solved, the situation is improving, said Dave Zupsic, superintendent.
“The phones are working but they are still not functioning at full capacity,” he said. “Although this has been very stressful for staff and parents, we continue to diagnose areas to pinpoint the problem.”
He said phone servers were recently installed, but lightning that struck South Butler Primary School a few weeks ago played a role in delaying the fixes.
According to a statement on the district’s website: “Hard lines have been established in each building for urgent business. ... All school nurses and school offices are able to place outside calls to parents for medical or emergency reasons.”
