I just read on the front page that the young mother in North Buffalo who is charged in the death of her new born baby might have the death penalty sought. I read that she also has a 15 month old son. This would be such a shame to leave this child with the memory of his mom as being murdered for the wrong that she committed. I am in favor of the death penalty. but feel that the mother felt she had no other choices and committed this horrible act out of desperation, not out of intent to kill. Sure, we all know that she could have taken the newborn to a church or to a police station and given it up, but murdering her for making a choice out of terror and fear is not a reason to make a small boy of 18 months grow up without a mom. Millions of murders are committed each year in the horrific crime of abortion and partial birth abortions and all that is done against those moms who have killed their children, is to give them counseling and a follow up visit to their MD.
