SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University students will put on a Cyber Security Fair from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday in Smith Student Center, ballroom A.

The fair will include booths intended to educate the public about good cyber security behavior and practices. Topics will include: phishing, wiping hard drives, smartphones, social media, passwords, securing home Wi-Fi, viruses and malware, data encryption, online privacy and using public Wi-Fi.

The event is free and open to the public.

GROVE CITY — The Grove City College Department of Music will host Eddy Marcano for a violin master-class from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Arnold Recital Hall of Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.Marcano of Venezuela is first violinist in the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra in Venezuela and is considered one of the top violinists in South America, according to a release.Grove City College students will be playing for him in an open master-class, which will be free and open to the public.

GROVE CITY — Grove City Medical Center, in cooperation with Central Blood Bank, is hosting a blood drive in November.The blood drive will be from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 17 in the hospital's education center at 631 N. Broad St. Ext., Grove City.To give blood, donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds.Walk-ins are welcome, but donors may register in advance by calling 724-450-7191.
