Man held for alleged threats on students

CALIFORNIA — Police say a 21-year-old man is charged with terroristic threats after threatening to kill California University of Pennsylvania students in a posting on a social networking Web site.

Police say Zachary Brett Buday of California wrote that he was going to "kill 12,000 Cal U. students" on his MySpace profile.

An anonymous female caller alerted authorities to the threat on Monday.

Police say Buday admitted to posting the threat because he was frustrated about increased traffic in the borough when students returned to campus in the fall. Police say Buday told them he never intended to carry out his threat.

Buday is being held in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bail.
