FAIRVIEW TWP — A township man was arraigned Tuesday in Ohio for multiple charges of rape.

George T. Martin, 63, was charged by the Mahoning County Sheriff on nine counts of rape.

The alleged rapes took place between 1987 and 1990 when the victim was between 10 and 13 years old, according to a Youngstown television station

The victim turns 38 this month, according to the station.

Calls to law enforcement in Ohio were not returned.

A grand jury in November indicted Martin.

The U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Offender Task Force requested assistance from the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force to help locate Martin.

Task force members found Martin at his house and arrested him without incident on Dec. 2. He was taken to the Butler County Prison.

On Monday two Mahoning County sheriff’s deputies picked up Martin for extradition from Butler County Prison.

He now is in Mahoning County Jail. No bond has been set.

Martin could face life in prison if convicted.
