Clara J. Kauffman
Clara Jane Rogers Kauffman, 93, of Georgetown and Reho-both Beach, Del., died Sunday at the Brandywine Assisted Living Facility, Rehoboth Beach, from heart-related problems.
Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Charles Ross and Mary Parthenia McJunkin Rogers.
She spent most of her life in Freeport and in Bradenton, Fla. She lived in Georgetown since the late 1970s and was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Kauffman was always active in supporting her local library, community activities and her church.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen K. McCrea and her husband, Gary, of Georgetown; a son, Richard R. Kauffman and his wife, Virginia, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three grandchildren, Kimberly K. Bates of Colchester, Conn., Brett A. McCrea of Georgetown and Scot R. Kauffman of Amston, Conn.
Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Samuel J. Kauffman, who died in 1992; three sisters, Helen Garvin, Wilma Glenn and Mary Margaret "Peg" Addy, and a brother, Charles Raymond Rogers.
