Mary L. Hicks, 78 of 103 Minich Road died late Sunday after an illness.

Born May 2, 1928, in Concan, Texas, she was the daughter of Adam and Clara (Penrod) Penrod.

She was a homemaker and a Protestant.

Her husband, Stillman J Hicks, whom she married Oct. 30, 1945, died in 1988.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Brian (Donna) Wood of Butler and Mrs. Larry (Diane) Pifer of Slippery Rack; five sons, Richard J. Hicks of Spring City, Chester County, Robert M. Hicks of Prospect Ronald D. Hicks of Florida, Edward P. Hicks of Sarver and Thomas N. Hicks of Grove City; 15 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Grant (Alma) Yoshida of Phoenix.
