Candidates to be at meeting

SLIPPERY ROCK — Steven Saylor and David Krayesky both will attend the borough’s meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the borough building on Water Street.

Both men will give presentations to council members on why they want to be appointed to a vacant seat on council.

Saylor and Krayesky have applied to be considered to fill the vacancy that was created when councilor-elect Brad Kovaleski in early December declined his position, saying he planned to move. His term was to begin Jan. 1.

Council members will vote to appoint one of the two candidates to that seat at their first meeting in February.

The appointed member will serve a two-year term, and an election will be held in 2017 to fill the remaining two years of the seat’s four-year term.
