PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Cedrick Wilson said his ex-girlfriend has kicked him and he fears she would shoot him if she gets a gun, according to a temporary protection-from-abuse court order he obtained against the woman.
Wilson sought the court order Tuesday, two days after Lindsey Paulat, the mother of his 1-year-old daughter, Anya, was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment for firing two shots in the player's home once he left after an argument.
Police have said the handgun gun belongs to Wilson.
Paulat remained in custody Thursday and her family has repeatedly declined to comment.
Wilson said in the document that he called police after he left the apartment, prompting a 12-hour standoff with police that ended when Paulat threw the gun out of the residence about 12:45 a.m. Sunday.
Paulat has been ordered to stay away from Wilson's home and their daughter until an Allegheny County judge can hold a hearing Monday on whether to extend or modify the protection-from-abuse order.
