Teen killed at KFC drive-through

PITTSBURGH — A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot Tuesday night while sitting in the passenger seat of a car in the drive-through at a Pittsburgh restaurant, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 10 p.m. at a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in the city's Homewood neighborhood.

The boy was in the car with his mother and sister when a man approached while the three were waiting for their food and fired at least three shots into the vehicle, police Lt. Kevin Kraus said.

The boy was hit in the neck and died a short time later at UPMC Presbyterian hospital, Kraus said.

"We believe he was the intended target," Kraus told The Associated Press.

The mother and sister were not injured.

Kraus would not comment on whether the mother or sister identified the shooter.
