Body parts found along interstate, autopsy set
SWIFTWATER, Pa. — A woman's severed head was found in a trash bag along Interstate 380, one of eight bags containing body parts strewn along two Pocono Mountain highways. It was unclear if all of the body was found, investigators said at a Tuesday afternoon news conference.
A state road worker salting I-380 discovered the first bag about 9 a.m. Tuesday in the median in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County.
Police were uncertain how long the remains had been along the highway. Troopers were going to review missing persons reports for possible leads to the woman's identity.
