Hillis Kaltenbaugh
Hillis Wayne Kaltenbaugh, 74, of Cabot, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026.
He was born May 13, 1952, in Butler, the son of the late Russell and Valetta (Fehl) Kaltenbaugh.
Hillis owned and operated H.W. Kaltenbaugh Contracting and Excavating for 40 years. He also owned and serviced Stone House Storages and Stone House Estates Apartments until his retirement in 2022. He was a sewage enforcement officer for several years. In his earlier years, he was a member of the Connoquenessing Fire Department. He owned and enjoyed vintage cars and also enjoyed camping in his fifth-wheel camper. He loved working outside with his flowers. He is a member of the Church of God at Connoquenessing.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife and best friend of 39 years, Lois; his son, Scott (Crystal) Kaltenbaugh, of Butler; his daughter, Cindy Jesteadt, of Evans City; his beloved granddaughter, Stephanie Kaltenbaugh, of Gibsonia; his stepgrandsons, Adrian (Ashley) Organ and Keaton Jesteadt; three stepgreat-grandsons; his sister, Joyce Gillis, of Renfrew; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Paige Organ; and his brother, Glenn Kaltenbaugh.
KALTENBAUGH — Friends and family of Hillis Wayne Kaltenbaugh, who died Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at the Church of God at Connoquenessing, 1247 Evans City Road, Connoquenessing.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Church of God at Connoquenessing, with Pastor Keith Karns officiating.
Interment will follow in the Butler County Memorial Park.
