Butler County saw 13 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one additional death due to the virus since Monday, according to state reports.

As of Wednesday, 869 county residents have tested positive for the virus since the beginning of the pandemic and one more county resident has died, increasing the total number of deaths to 22, according to the state Department of Health.

Butler Health System reported one additional COVID-19 patient, bringing the number to eight inpatients, with seven confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one suspected at Butler Memorial Hospital. One patient is in the intensive care unit.

Clarion Hospital saw a decrease in cases from three patients to one patient with confirmed COVID-19 who is in the ICU.

Confirmed case increases were reported in surrounding counties and several reported additional deaths.

Statewide, the number of confirmed cases increased by 1,927 and the number of deaths increased by 34, according to the department.
