2-vehicle crash sends 4 people to hospital
CRANBERRY TWP — Two adults and two children Tuesday were transported in ambulances to be evaluated after a two-car crash.
The accident happened about 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Franklin and Peters roads. A silver BMW sedan, driven by a woman with two children in the back seat, and a white Jeep Wrangler, driven by another woman, were both heavily damaged and towed.
The four occupants of the vehicles all left the scene in two ambulances from the township EMS. Any injuries were believed to be minor, Sgt. Chuck Mascellino of the township police said.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, though officers think that the Jeep ran a red light, Mascellino said.
Police and the township volunteer fire department were on the scene for about an hour. There were minor traffic delays and the southbound lane of Franklin Road was temporarily closed while the scene was being cleaned.
