SLIPPERY ROCK — The developer of a hotel development on Grove City Road said this morning work will restart within 60 days.

Geno Ray, principle and managing partner at RBI, said the project has a 10-month schedule for completion, which means the site could be ready for visitors in spring 2010.

The 10-acre site will include a $12 million Marriott Fairfield Inn, an 18,000-square-foot retail mall and four restaurants.

RBI Development, the Pittsburgh company heading up the project, had to reapply to the borough planning commission after making changes to the layout of the hotel.

Jesse Hines, code enforcement officer for the borough, presented the new plans to borough council Tuesday night.

"The hotel group reapplied to the planning commission with its amended hotel plans," Hines said. "The biggest change with the hotel is that they went from 68 rooms to 75 rooms. They put the hotel on the back of the lot, moving it back. With increasing rooms, they had to increase parking accordingly."

"There were so many changes, and that's why they had to reapply to the planning commission," Hines said.

The revised hotel plan will go before council for approval on Aug. 4.
