Officer accused of exposing himself

NEW CASTLE — An off-duty Lawrence County police officer accused of exposing himself and wielding a knife in a bar has waived his preliminary hearing.

Police say Frank Stahlman pulled out a folding knife with a 3-inch blade while talking to a patron and exposed himself at a bar on July 26. The 36-year-old Edinburg man is suspended from his part-time positions in Bessemer Borough and in Chippewa Township.

Police also say Stahlman claimed to have killed more than 100 people in Iraq while a member of military special services. They say he isn't a veteran.
