A Butler man accused in April of threatening a woman and her children had his felony aggravated assault charge withdrawn at a Monday, Sept. 28, preliminary hearing.

Dana Dale Robinson, 55, waived remaining misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and terroristic threats for court before District Judge William Fullerton after the felony charge was withdrawn by Assistant District Attorney J.P. Kulzer.

Butler police said they were dispatched April 4 to Eau Claire Street for a man armed with a metal pipe making threats. Police found the man wielding a shovel. He had also dropped a glass smoking pipe with a Chore Boy.

The caller told police Robinson ran in front of the woman’s vehicle, swung the metal object at her and said, “I’m going to kill you.” The caller had children in the vehicle with her.

Police said Robinson also fought with an unknown man, but the man ran off. According to court records, Robinson posted bail of $15,000 the day he was charged.

Robinson is represented by attorney Benjamin Levine. His formal arraignment is scheduled for 1 p.m. Nov. 17 in Butler County Common Pleas Courtroom 2.
